The Cross Century II Mechanical Pencil - Green Marble pairs the Century II design with a Green Marble finish. The exact finish gives the familiar Cross design its own visual identity while preserving the proportions and writing format associated with the collection.
Craftsmanship & Design
Century II takes the visual language of the original Classic Century and gives it a more substantial profile and greater weight in the hand. Cross positions the collection as a bolder, wider interpretation of its classic design, with balanced proportions suited to everyday writing and presentation.
This example pairs green marbled lacquer with contrasting black markings and gold-tone appointments. The patterned finish adds depth to the cap and barrel while preserving the Century II's familiar tapered silhouette. The accompanying photographs show the actual writing instrument offered.
Collector & Design Context
Cross has produced a wide range of finishes across its writing instruments. Green Marble gives the Century II a distinctive patterned appearance, offering an expressive complement to the collection's more restrained solid-color and metal finishes.
Writing Experience
As a mechanical pencil, the instrument uses a refillable lead mechanism designed for precise, repeatable writing and drafting. The slim Cross form makes it equally appropriate for desk work, annotations, and everyday note-taking while retaining the permanence of a reusable writing instrument.
Brand Heritage
A.T. Cross traces its history to 1846 and has played a long role in the development of American writing instruments. The company introduced the Century mechanical pencil in 1946, the Classic Century ballpoint in 1953, and later expanded into collections such as Townsend, Century II, Solo, and Metropolis as its catalog evolved.
